Notification, copyright concerns
[edit]Hello. Another contributor has listed Andrea Doria class cruiser at the copyright problems board for investigation, as he or she believes that it incorporates material copyrighted to the book The Illustrated Directory of Warships, from 1860 to the present day. You evidently were not notified of these concerns. I am placing the proper template here on your page as it contains information about addressing these concerns that may be of use to you. Although the matter comes ripe for administrator closure today, I'll relist it to give you due time to address these concerns. Thank you. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:40, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Template notice: Copyright problem: Andrea Doria class cruiser
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Andrea Doria class cruiser, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a copy from Miller, (D.), The Illustrated Directory of Warships, from 1860 to the present day. London, 2004, Salamander Books, pp. 16-17, and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL), versions 1.3 or later then you should do one of the following:
- If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Andrea Doria class cruiser and send an email with confirmation of permission to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or that the material is released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Andrea Doria class cruiser with a link to where we can find that note.
- If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Andrea Doria class cruiser.
It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:Andrea Doria class cruiser saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:40, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Welcome to the WikiProject Norway
[edit]Hi Sandip,
As a new member of this project, you can:
- Contribute to the improvement of existing Norwegian articles.
- Create new articles that do not exist.
- Suggest new ideas and discuss relevant topics about the project's line of work at the discussion page.
I'll personally be working on making stubs into good articles. If this is something you might be interested in, please stop by my talk page and let me know you'd like to help. Here is an article I'm working on at the moment.
Sincerely,
(Ice Explorer (talk) 09:25, 30 November 2009 (UTC))
- Hello! I'll with pleasure help you to expand the stubs, but right now I focus on writing new articles related to historical and modern buildings and structures in the main cities of Norway. When I've some time I'll surely take a look at the stubs (there are so many of them!). Sincerely, Sandip90 (talk) 10:23, 1 December 2009 (UTC)
- Sounds great, looking forward to reading your articles and seeing you about. Thanks again for joining WikiProject Norway.(Ice Explorer (talk) 13:30, 1 December 2009 (UTC))

Hockey World Cup
[edit]Hi Sandip,
Apologies if I may have accidentaly removed any of your edits. If there are things you believe I have erronously deleted, please restore them. I would ask you however to ensure that the information is consistent. The article has quite a number of inconsitencies currently (Korean name format etc...) and I am working to try and ensure consistency across hockey articles. Kind regards Goldfinger820 (talk) 20:16, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks for replying and restoring my edits. I am not familiar with Korean name format and will not do edits that include them. However, I will focus on match results as I am watching every match of this tournament live. I would never edit without referring to reliable sources. I have noticed that there are many hockey players, whom do not that individual links. I will try to work with those when I have opportunity. Currently, I most active on the Norwegian Wikipedia. Thanks again. Sandip90 (talk) 23:02, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
Hello. I am contacting you because you are listed as a participant for WikiProject Norway, and the above-mentioned article is sourced by all Norwegian-language references. Moreover, the references do not appear to support notability; they might be mere trivial references to the subject. Since these sources are all offline, and I do not speak or read Norwegian, I'm hoping whether you can assist me in determining whether the article qualifies for speedy deletion. Many thanks! - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 13:06, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

Nomination of Lambertseter Upper Secondary School for deletion
[edit]A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Lambertseter Upper Secondary School is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lambertseter Upper Secondary School until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. ❤ Yutsi Talk/ Contributions ( 偉特 ) 17:24, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
- Is this meant as a joke? Why should this particular article be deleted when we have a lot of other articles on Norwegian (upper secondary) schools? I want to know what makes this article less relevant compared to let's say Berg Upper Secondary School or Oslo Cathedral School? Do not they all belong to the same category? If it is of no relevance for Wikipedia then why do we have so many articles on other Norwegian (or any country, for that sake) schools? Going by your logic all articles found under Category:Secondary_schools_in_Norway should be deleted. As far as relevance is concerned, I do not see any issue. Yes, the article is a stub, but it contains all the necessary information. Anyways that is a whole different matter. I want a explanation for the unfair nomination for deletion. Sandip90 (talk) 20:54, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
You may want to move your recent 'new' talk-page section & comment about fatalities as there was already a discussion about the issue further up the page, see Talk:2015 Indonesian Air Force Lockheed C-130 Hercules crash#Fatalities. - 220 of Borg 18:27, 5 July 2015 (UTC)
- I am sorry, I did not notice that section at the top of the page. Thanks for the heads-up. – Sandip90 (talk) 21:35, 5 July 2015 (UTC)
- I've done the same thing myself! It will likely still be some time till a final official death toll is known. The figure of 141 has been bandied about, but it isn't unusual, I think, for 'double counting' to occur, if say the Red Cross or other NGOs are involved and making their own counts. 220 of Borg
- Yes, you are right. The situation is still quite unclear, partly due to the type and location of the crash (a military plane crashing and causing ground fatalities in a densely-populated residential area). We shall just wait for the official figures to be released. – Sandip90 (talk) 15:11, 6 July 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File permission problem with File:Battle of Mlawa - fixed.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Battle of Mlawa - fixed.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 10:29, 17 May 2016 (UTC)

Hi. I was wondering if you would be interested in contributing articles to Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic)? It needs contributors to increase diversity of content from different countries and bring about large scale improvements. The idea at some point will be to host a National Contest related to your country of interest. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:14, 21 September 2016 (UTC)
Europe 10,000 Challenge invite
[edit]Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
